Music is a world within itself with a language we all understand
Curriculum music is taught at all class levels in Cherry Lane. From EYFS through to Year 6 the Charanga Music School Scheme is implemented. This gives the children opportunity to engage with many genres and styles of music including Classical, Pop, Jazz, Rock, Reggae and Rap amongst others. Singing is at the heart of the Charanga Music Scheme. Along with this, children in Cherry Lane have weekly singing assemblies.
We have recently pledged for a Silver Sing Up Award and we are all working together as a whole school to achieve this award. Keep an eye here for updates as we move along this journey as a whole school.

There are many extra-curricular opportunities for children in KS2 to further their musical skills. We have Guitar, Keyboard, Steel Pan and Violin Lessons available to offer many KS2 children. Have a look at the photos to see the children in action and read what they like about their instruments.
